Your School – your community.
We are proud to be a public school with strong community ties. Our students are intimately involved in local events and we mentor students in local primary schools with our Primary Links program. We see ourselves as part of the continuum of student learning establishing a confident transition for students into high school.
Our school has a strong relationship with its parent community. They are crucial to decision making and our regular community forums are successful because of the participation of our parent body.
We keenly participate in local cultural and creative events and in this way the quality of our students’ work is recognised and enjoyed by the wider local community.
Our students are encouraged to question their place in local, national and international events. At Riverside, we nurture their social consciousness.
As a learning community promoting the philosophy of life long learning, we regularly invite guest speakers into parent forums, staff meetings and school assemblies. We believe in presenting perspectives and inspiring action, hence our motto ‘Deeds not words’, and will explore issues that challenge the girls to consider new ideas, perspectives or which inspire positive change.
